Recently, a French politician suggested that America should return the Statue of Liberty.
As a French citizen, I was ashamed to hear such words.
The statue is more than a monument — it stands for the friendship and shared ideals that unite our two nations. Dismissing it is turning our backs on everything it represents.
I have a deep and lasting admiration for the United States — for its founding values, its courage, and its generosity.
I will never forget the sacrifice of those who crossed the ocean to help liberate my country from Nazi tyranny. That legacy deserves enduring respect and gratitude.
I stand for America — and I always will.
